A fine sunny day with a light wind for todays match.

After the defeat away to Kenilworth on a damp and dreary evening last week, Nuns were wanting to turn that around this week.

The two teams were pretty equal however it was basic handling errors that led to Broadstreet's first try. Coming from a Nuns lineout in their 22, Broadstreet picked up on Nuns mistakes and ran in for an unconverted try.

Initially, Nuns had good hands going forward, but looked under pressure in the scrums.

Again Broadstreet built on their lead to score a second try after taking advantage of handling mistakes by Nuns.

Nuns came back and through the forwards drove low and hard and over for Harris touching down in the corner.

The lineouts were performing well Spence used his reach to good effect and stole a couple of their lineouts.

The first half ended 5 - 17 after Broadstreet got another try and kicked the conversion.

The second half kicked off and Broadstreet started where they left off, gathering the ball from the kick-off and running straight at Nuns. Nuns looked shocked and missed tackles and Broadstreet were over again making it 5 - 22.

Nuns soon kicked into action though, with Healy bursting through their lines and Broadstreet tackling thin air to score making it 10- 22.
A superb solo try.

Not long later, and Nuns were at it again. Nuns had a scrum, with the ball out to Sumner who used the inside pass to Healy wrong-footing the defense and he sprinted in through flailing hands and over beneath the posts. Sumner converting.
Score 17 -22.

Broadstreet returned the favor though and passed the ball down their back line, and took advantage of Nuns stepping out of the defensive line, creating space for Broadstreet to take the ball into the corner for a try to make it 17 -27.

Unfortunately Nuns poor tackling allowed Broadstreet in for another try, leaving themselves with a steep hill to climb.

There were some smashing tackles going in on both sides, Healy contributing from full-back to those.

With a scrum just inside their half, the front five gave a much better account, and the ball was out to Sumner who chipped over the top for Mitchell to collect and had the strength to get over the line and score in the right corner making it 22 -32. Sumner converted bringing it to 24 -34.

After a tete-a-tete, which the referee did not have a grip of, the match resumed with a Broadstreet score bringing it to 24 -39.

However these colts can not be held back and with a push into their 5m line after a penalty, we had the lineout. Spence up to claim the ball, into a maul and then Sidhu popped up and over for the try in the left corner. A great forward try and Sidhu couldn't hold back his happiness at scoring for his beloved Nuns.
A missed conversion and the final score was 29 - 39.

A hit and miss performance from the Nuns, which was not helped again by a poor referee…Offside I hear you say…..Ref?????

Plenty of positives though to carry into next week, the biggest is that this team is playing as a team and for one another and the shirt.
