After another weekend off, the Nuns return to league action tomorrow as the make the trip to Kettering on the back of their 10th bonus point win in a row. It was a clinical display in despatching Peterborough 104-0 with plenty of good attack play but also, at time, resolute defence to keep the visitors to zero. This victory saw a boost to the Nuns points scored and point’s difference, which see’s them currently joint top of the league. Northampton Old Scouts and Lutterworth also have 79points with NOS in 1st place with 15 wins, 2 draws and a loss, Lutterworth 2nd with 15 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses and the Nuns 3rd with 15 wins and 3 losses. League position’s go on games won, then drawn, then points difference.

This Saturday’s fixture with Kettering will be another stern test. They currently sit in 5th position with 49 points from 10 wins and 9 bonus points. When the Nuns hosted them earlier in the season they ran out 47-16 winners which started the run of wins. Kettering have picked up 6 of their wins at home this season but lost their last game away to Northampton Old Scouts 29-18.

The Saxons are due to play Lichfield away in the league this weekend. Last weekend they defeated Veseyans 2s 41-3 in a friendly after Lichfield pulled out of the home league on the Friday night. It was a strong showing from the squad with plenty of positives to carry on building towards.

The Saracens lost a tough game to Old Yardleians 74-3 but battled hard and enjoyed their afternoon. They don’t have a game this week.

The Colts lost in a friendly to Loughborough last weekend going down 48-7. They have a Warwickshire Cup Quarter Final away at Kenilworth this weekend.

Team news: the pack sees one change from the previous outing against Peterborough; Todd Bullions miss out with a calf strain with Rudi Reid coming in.

In the back line, Ben Kirby is out with a hamstring niggle and so Harry Beverley comes up from the bench.

The bench sees Ben Holmes return to join James Lloyd and there is a first 1st team appearance of the season for ex-Colt Harry Healy who spent the majority of last year homing his skills in New Zealand.
