This weekend sees the second half of the season begin as the Nuns travel to Newbold On Avon for a Warwickshire derby. The squad will be looking to carry on their recent good form that has seen them close the gap at the top of the league. Currently, 3 points separate the top 4 sides but the game between the top two last week was frozen off. Last weekend’s win over Lutterworth closed the gap between them to 2 points and drew the Nuns level with Market Harborough on 44points with 8 wins and 3 defeats.

The first meeting with Newbold this season ended in a 31-26 defeat for the Nuns in a game when they had a good half time lead but didn’t build on this in the second half. Newbold come into the game on the back of their 3rd win of the season over Towcestrians last week, 31-10. They have 16 points from three wins and four bonus points so far.

The Saxons have a home league game with Bournville 2s. Last week’s game with Lichfield was frozen off.

The Colts have a big league game at home to Old Leamingtonians. Last weekend’s friendly with Leicester Forest ended in a 36-18 defeat.

Team news: changes in the pack for this weekend see Augy Clarke start at hooker for Toby Dearden and Nick Walton starts for Adie Hall who picked up a shoulder injury last weekend.
