We’re Recruiting: Development Coach at Nuneaton Rugby Club

Nuneaton Comms Team

Help develop our colts and junior players and support their progression into senior rugby in a paid, part-time role.

Help develop the next generation at Nuneaton Rugby Club

Nuneaton Rugby Club is recruiting a Development Coach to lead the redevelopment of our Colts programme and support coaching across our junior teams.

This is an opportunity to help young players develop their skills, strengthen player retention and support the transition into senior rugby.

The role at a glance

  • Paid, part-time position: £4,500 per season.
  • Approximately 6–8 hours per week, including coaching, matches and planning.
  • Two evening training sessions each week, on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, plus one Saturday or Sunday fixture, agreed with the Director of Rugby.
  • Contract from November 2026 to April 2027, with an end-of-season review and potential continuation into 2027/28.

What you’ll do

  • Plan and deliver coaching sessions for colts and junior players, aligning key skills across age groups.
  • Prepare players for league and cup fixtures and provide coaching at home and away matches.
  • Deliver individual player development sessions and review individual and squad performance.
  • Work with coaches and club staff to support player welfare and development.
  • Communicate with players, parents and coaches, maintain player records and contribute to the club’s wider coaching programme.

What we’re looking for

You’ll hold ERCA, RFU Level 2 or an equivalent coaching qualification, with experience of coaching age-group players and a strong understanding of the transition from colts to senior rugby.

You’ll bring knowledge of the modern game, experience of individual performance planning and a holistic, person-first approach to development. Relevant continuing professional development and experience of planning and managing rugby resources are also part of the role’s requirements.

A first aid qualification can be arranged if required. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an RFU DBS check once appointed.

Support for your development

You’ll work alongside experienced age-group coaches and our Head of Transition. Financial support for coaching development is available and can be discussed at interview.
