Nuneaton RFC is excited to confirm that Stewart Pearl and Arron Skyrme will be joining Head Coach Huw Thomas ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Stewart Pearl joins the club as forwards coach having worked alongside Huw Thomas for the past 2 seasons at Newbold. Prior to that he was forwards coach at Birmingham Moseley in National 1 and won promotion twice from Midlands Premier with Broadstreet and then Birmingham/Solihull.
Arron Skyrme adds some continuity to the coaching team having been the Saxons coach and then stepping up to assistant coach in the new year after last season's coaching restructure. He will again be Saxons coach as well as skills/assistant forwards coach.
Thomas added: “I’m delighted that Pearly will be joining me at the club. I’m sure the players will take to him well, and he has plenty of experience to offer both as a player and coach. He’s also invested in the club having been coaching his son's age group team for the last few years. We want the players to become a tight group that buys into what the club is trying to achieve.
I’m also really pleased to keep Arron involved with the coaching side of the club. He is waiting for surgery on his knee which will keep him out of playing action for an extended period. Keeping someone involved with the club from last season maintains continuity with what we will be trying to implement this season. I know that the players were impressed with his coaching when he took a more senior role last year and is a coach I’ve worked with at Worcester Academy.”
Please keep your eyes open for more news coming soon regarding off-field roles and as we start to announce player news.
As a club, we are open to new players joining or reconnecting with the game. For further information please contact Head Coach Huw Thomas on huw_thomas9@hotmail.com
