Recruiting a new Head Coach for the Women's Touch Team

Zoe Anthony17 May 2023 - 09:49

Are you someone with ambition and the leadership skills to take women's rugby at the Nuns forward?

The Nuneaton RFC Women’s and Girls Touch Rugby team is looking for a new Head Coach to work alongside the existing coaches to continue the development of the team as they continue in their 2023 Touch Rugby season.

Touch Rugby is a fast-paced, none contact sport that plays its season from March to October. The Ladies are part of the Midlands Women’s Touch League and are currently in the middle of their season. The team is made up of 15 ladies varying in age from 14 years to ladies in their 40s. The team trains on a Monday evening at 7pm, however, do change the day of the week if the Monday falls on a Bank Holiday. The league tournaments take place on a Sunday afternoon, starting from about 12:30pm and finish approximately 5pm. Below are the dates and locations for the remaining tournaments for the season.
11th June – Stratford RFC
9th July – Nuneaton RFC
10th September – Wellsbourne RFC
1st October – Redditch RFC
22nd October – Five Ways RFC

We are looking for someone with coaching experience, preferably in a rugby discipline who is willing to learn and take the time to understand England Touch rules to be able to continue the development of the team. We would be looking for the new Head Coach to become qualified at an England Touch level. The team is still in development so the new coach would need to be willing to continue with their progress and growth. The successful candidate will need to have determination to work with a great group of people who are willing to learn, we need you to be dedicated to the team and their future success.

Nuneaton RFC is dedicated to the development of their women’s offer both for touch rugby and moving forward, their rugby union. This role is currently a volunteering role, however, there is hope to grow the section, and should the individual be willing to work to support this then there could be an opportunity for the role to become more substantial.
