Minis & Juniors Weekend Round‑Up

Minis & Juniors Weekend Round‑Up

Nuneaton Comms Team23 Feb - 11:49

From Rugger Rats to U15s, our players, coaches and parents prove what true Nuns spirit looks like.

After what feels like weeks of weather chaos, and not just for us, but clubs everywhere, it was a relief to finally be back out there this weekend.

A huge thank you to our coaches, managers and parents who’ve worked tirelessly to keep sessions going. When pitches were closed, training still happened on netball courts, in school halls and even on a farm. That’s proper grassroots rugby, and exactly what red, white and black is all about.

Rugger Rats, U7s, U8s & U9s
Our youngest Nuns were back in the sunshine with a brilliant training session. Plenty of energy, smiles and improving skills across the board.

U10s

  • Hinckley RFC
  • Leicester Forest RFC

The U10s travelled to Hinckley for a tri-fixture against their local rivals and Leicester Forest. A dogged performance from the squad, working hard and putting into practice what they’ve been focusing on at training. Great to see the progress continuing week by week.

U11s
A solid training session this weekend as preparations continue for their match next Sunday.

U12s & U13s

  • Burntwood Rugby Club

Both age groups hosted Burntwood, with a late switch bringing the fixtures to Liberty Way. We know how challenging it’s been for clubs dealing with unplayable pitches, so credit to everyone involved in making sure the games went ahead. Strong efforts from both teams on home turf.

U15s

  • Moseley Rugby Club

The U15s made the trip to Moseley for their fixture, always a good test and valuable experience away from home.

Looking ahead to next weekend most of the section travels to Oadby Wyggs. The U8s are at home (details to follow), while the U14s welcome Oadby to Nuneaton.

Let’s hope March starts as the last Sunday of February finished, with rugby being played the way it should be (or at least the way the parents prefer it!) in the sunshine, wearing red, white and black.
