Consistently displaying exemplary qualities of Leadership
- Chris Taylor Mini & Junior Chair

On behalf of the club, we owe a debt of gratitude and a huge thank you to all volunteers, who freely give their time to help our young players. Without or volunteers, there would be no Nuneaton Rugby and no Mini & Juniors.

At the recent Mini and Junior AGM, Awards were presented for the Mini & Junior Club Person of the Year Award, for both the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons.

Club Person of the Year is a special award that recognises those who consistently go above and beyond, as well as consistently displaying exemplary qualities of leadership, humility, service and most often putting the club before work, family and social life.

The competition was strong however there can only be one award per season.

Jackie McDevitt, U10’s Team Manager is the recipient of the 2019/20 season Mini and Junior Club Person of the Year Award.

Jackie’s citation reads:

Jackie is the role model team manager. Usually the first one to volunteer, much to the dismay of their significant other. Always happy to help, in whatever capacity is needed. Jackie has coordinated multiple seasons worth of apparel orders, raising significant funds for the club. Working the touchline, better than any politician could ever hope to do on a ropewalk, displaying a genuine desire to have a great and cohesive parent cohort. Christmas party organiser, premier rugby away day organiser, first aider, admin supremo, trusted confidant, voice of reason and always with a massive smile and a hug to all around.

Chris Brookes, U9’s coach and Club Membership Secretary, is the recipient of the 2020/21 Season Mini and Junior Club Person of the Year Award.

Chris’ citation reads

Chris is a coach and serves a dual role across both club committees as Membership Secretary. Chris has wrangled a fraught and unnecessary complex process and turned it modern digital online process, working with RFU system that is also complex and frustrating.

A savant, wise, bearded miracle worker who pulls the digital rabbit out of the great digital ether, every single time. Chris offers his expertise, all self-taught, to assist team mangers ensure our registrations and databases run as smoothly as possible. A genuinely nice guy and consistently goes above and beyond to fix issues.

Congratulations to both Jackie and Chris on being awarded Club Person of the Year for 2019/20 and 2020/21 respectively.
