Today marks what would have been the 100th birthday of Wally Holmes, one of Nuneaton RFC’s most revered figures.
A fierce competitor and devoted sportsman, Wally’s love for rugby shaped his life and inspired generations. His career saw him represent Warwickshire, the Midland Counties, the Barbarians, and England, an extraordinary achievement by any measure.
Between 1958 and 1960, Wally captained Nuneaton RFC, embodying leadership, loyalty, and the warrior spirit that defined his playing days.
To all who knew him, we invite you to raise a glass in his memory. Wally would expect no less.
Forever part of our club’s story. Forever remembered.
