It was a busy and rewarding weekend for the Nuneaton Colts, with several of our U17s rested ahead of district duties on Sunday, opening the door for our U16s to take centre stage for their first run-out on the stadium pitch.
We were delighted to welcome Northampton Old Scouts Colts for a friendly fixture. A great group of players and coaches, they provided a strong test and a valuable opportunity for our younger lads to experience the pace and physicality of Colts rugby. The visitors took a convincing 0–48 win, but the scoreline only tells part of the story.
For our U16s, it was a chance to step into a competitive Colts environment, learn, adapt, and show glimpses of what’s to come. For our coaches, it offered a clear view of where to focus training as we build towards next season’s progression.
A huge thank you to NOS for making the journey and being excellent opponents.
On Sunday, attention turned to district rugby, where nine Nuneaton U17s proudly represented North Warwickshire, delivering a dominant 52–0 victory.
Of those nine, six have now earned selection for Warwickshire: Croskery, Friswell, Farmer, Sumner, Johnston and Tedcastle, a fantastic achievement for the lads and the programme.
We now look ahead to our opening Warwickshire Cup fixture this Saturday (07/02), away to Harbury Colts, with a near full-strength squad ready to go.
Come on you Nuns!
