At the half way point the under 14s season has been a real rollercoaster as the form shows.
After a good preseason Nuns adapted well to the 15 a side game and despite what looked like a tough fixture list the nuns went unbeaten after their first five outings not only playing some nice rugby but shaking off some tough opposition to do it. Sutton, Broadstreet, Kenilworth and Mkt Harborugh all well beaten before a draw at home against old leams brought an end to their best run for a number of years.
The confidence the lads had got from a good run of form took a battering when a well drilled Sils side showed the improving nuns they were not quite the finished article with a convincing win and nuns unable to register a score.
While Nuns ran Claverdon, Laurents and Harbury close they were unable to close out games to produce a win, mainly down to poor decision making. However Sils, OC’s and Hinckley are the benchmark Nuns really should be measuring themselves against, all very disciplined defences and well drilled attack.
If this group really want to compete against the best around the county they need to develop their individual fitness and skills. The coaching team are working to develop the boys game sense and decision making for the second half of the season as invariably this costs this team come match day.
