10 v 41
Tries x2

Nuns:
Tries Kahrman (2), Court, Sumner, Healey (3)
Conversions Sumner (2), Court

It was a blowy day for what has become over the years a great match between the two sides.

For the day, there was an official referee who was being monitored on his own performance, which was excellent.
He was consistent and managed the players well, getting to grips with any lack of discipline early doors.
He officiated well and gave a good performance.

It was a well-deserved win for Nuns over an old foe.
They fought hard and used their rugby brains to good effect.
There was some drop in attention levels straight after they scored, but they came back well to lead at halftime and pushed on in the second half for a complete shutdown by full-time winning by 31 points.

From the kick-off, they had some good pressure working their way slowly but surely up the pitch. They ended up with a lineout in Earlsdon 22, close to the try line.
A great throw-in and drive resulted in Kahrman coming off the back of the drive and using his strength to score in the corner.
0-5
Nuns, then switched off from the restart, Earlsdon ran well evading tackles and scoring in the corner to level the scores.
5-5
Kickoff and penalty to Earlsdon meet with a roar from the players and fans alike. This game truly meant a lot to both sets of players and fans.
But Nuns bit back and turned the ball over.
Eventually, the ball came to Court who had the power to break tackles and get over the line with a stretch.
Converted by Sumner in some strong winds.
5-12
Nuns favouring their superiority in the line out and their territory advantage won yet another lineout and down again, for Kahrman again peeling from the back to reach over and score another forward try.
5-17
Earsldon kicked off and lost the ball with a scrum to Nuns. A show of forward superiority and the ball was handed to Healey at around Nuns own 10m line, in their own half.
Healey slid into his old self, and danced through various tackles, and turned on the afterburner....in he went under the posts.
This helped Sumner with the wind and slotted his second conversion.
5-24
Earlson was not being left behind though. They kept the ball tight in the forwards and over for their second. Conversion missed
10-24 at half time

These two teams have fought hard over the years, and today was no exception.
Earlsdon came out firing on all cylinders.
Phase after phase left Earlsdon camped out in the Nuns 22 for about 10-15 mins.
Nuns kept giving penalty away after penalty, losing 10m here and there from their discipline, However, they were as good as their first half. Nuns shut the door on Earlsdon.

Nuns, not letting up, went for the kill.
Nuns cleared their lines and forced the pressure onto Earsldon, with Sumner over in the corner for another Nuns try
10-29
It was starting to look like a lion's feast, Healey taking the ball and showing great agility running down the line and under the posts.
10-34
Earsldon hadn't learned, and when Healey got the ball, he danced around tackles and sped away from the backs and under the posts again.
This time Court took the battle against the wind and converted with a drop kick.
10-41
Final score 10-41.

Some great plays from all the Nuns.
Spence dominating the lineout, Healey and his speed, Emery and his little dancing feet on the wing, Allaway at hooker, Smithy on the wing, to name but a few.
This victory meant so much to each and every Nuns colt player and it showed in the scoreline and all the little victories throughout the match all over the pitch.
Well done lads and to the coaches.
A great squad effort.
