Match Preview

After a weekend off, the Nuns are back in league action this weekend as they travel to Olney for a first league meeting between the sides. Some bodies will have been rested and time spent to refocus on areas of improvement and the players are eager to get back into action. In the last home fixture the Nuns won 36-9 over Oadby and they will be working hard to try and make it three wins in a row. Olney currently sit 9th in the league with 1 win and 4 defeats. In their last fixture they lost to Northampton Old Scouts 43-13.

With a break from league rugby the club have also been working hard to continually improve the playing squad. We have been able to add 5 new players recently; four have come in from Broadstreet with a return of back rower Martin Wood, centre/wing Ryan Preston who both featured for the club last season, second row Nick Walton who had a spell with the club a few seasons ago and another utility back in Fin Powell. The fifth signing is another returnee in back Ben Gilbert from Old Leamingtonians.

The Saxons are also back in league action as they travel to Bourneville with a strong squad.

The Saracens have their first home game of the season taking on Manor Park in a 1:30pm kick off.

The Colts are looking to continue their recent good form. After a 41-28 win over Tamworth last week, they travel to Stratford.

Rugby World Cup Quarter Finals will be on in the club Saturday afternoon and then an action packed Sunday for the Nuns Mini Festival, good luck to all.

Team news: one change in the pack sees Ben Dawes come in at tight head prop having been at the Amateur World Cup at the end of September.

In the backline Tom Smitham comes back in at scrum half with the rest of the backline the same as last time out.

James Redman, Nick Walton and Tak Chawadya make up the bench.
