Nuneaton R.F.C. has been working with its governing body, the Rugby Football Union and Sport England, to raise its standards, develop its programme within the club and to move towards gaining accreditation and public recognition for the work it undertakes.
In February 2005 the club was successful in gaining this accreditation from Warwickshire R.F.U. and has also been recognised by Sport England as a 'Clubmark' - a safe, effective and child friendly club.
The Sport England 'Clubmark' scheme has been developed to enable children and young people, their parents/carers and others with an interest in sport, to recognise across a wide range of different sports clubs, those that are committed to providing a quality experience. The accreditation process involves ongoing inspection of all aspects of the club, including such things as its Child Protection Policy, training programme for coaches, first aid procedures and record keeping by the club, as well as many other things required by a successful club.
The need for accreditation of sports clubs will grow over the coming years as more and more people become aware of the significance of a national, cross-sport quality mark and Nuneaton R.F.C. are proud to be one of the leaders in this area.
Having gained 'Clubmark', Nuneaton R.F.C. will now continually develop its very high standards, within both the main club and the mini and junior section, to enable it to sustain the criteria required to gain accreditation and will strive to continue to provide an excellent service to the community.
