WEEKLY ROUND-UP 23/24 March 2019

Minis
U7's – Had a great morning showing just how far the U7s have come this season. 4 teams from both Old Laurent’s and The Nuns, played on 4 pitches with the 2 pass rule now in force (must make 2 passes after a tag is taken before a try can be scored). Great space awareness and running by all the kids, getting ready for our home festival next!!

U8’s – saw great free flowing rugby being played bay all 3 Nuns teams as well as the 2 teams sent by Old Laurent’s. One of the U8’s parents/coaches Chris Taylor said’ It was a pleasure to referee the games and watch the development of the teams from the start of the Season. U8’s parent Jon Phillips, specifically commented that the ‘squad “clicked” and were well organised and played nice rugby. Well done team and well done coaches’. Thank you Jon!

U9’s – In the words of head coach Pete Walton ‘Well what a cracking weekend of rugby, guard of honour for the first team and a great photo with the 1st team after the match and its show the lads where they could be in years to come’. Pete went on to say, ‘The difference from the game at OLs last year was huge and pleasing to see, the player challenges to get that controlled aggression out worked & for All in the coaching team it was clearly visible’.

U10’s – played 2 games with rolling subs against Old Laurent’s, who were a ‘really good side, good tacklers, strong defence and attack’ according to the coaching team. The U10’s Nuns played very well with ‘good communication, excellent tackling, defensive line and attacking line well positioned and disciplined’.

U11’s – were visited by a large OL’s squad allowing some good playing time. All players put in a great session, playing hard but fair, winning some and losing some but with good solid play in both defence and attack. Team Manager Darlo commented ‘Both Centurions and Spartans showing some good teamwork and some improvement in their rugby skills’.

U12’s - Under 12’s won 6 v 2 against Old Laurents in a ’Great game’ according to Karen Astin Team Manager. All teams ‘displayed great sportsmanship’ Karen continued.
