Nuns appoint John Beart as Academy/Colts Coach

These are exciting times for Nuneaton RFC as plans to launch an Academy next season begin to take shape. Nuns are delighted to announce the appointment of John Beart as Coach of the Academy/Colts.

John is Nuneaton born and bred and a former Nuns player. In a distinguished career he played Premiership rugby with Bath.

Commenting on the appointment, Neil Robinson Vice-Chairman of Nuneaton RFC said:

“This is a statement of intent. To bring in somebody of the calibre of John is a coup for the Nuns. He is highly professional, experienced in training and man management. Frankly he is a leader. He is passionate about the Nuns as his home town Club and recognised at world level as a rugby coach with strong experience with Brunei, University of York, Royal Corps of Signals, and Leicester Tigers amongst others.

“What we are doing here is setting our Club up for a bright future so that quality players want to become involved and we represent the town of Nuneaton to the highest standard we can. The Academy will bridge the gap between Colts rugby and Senior rugby. It will provide a pathway to the first team for talented local players and provide quality preparation for them in skills, training and mental preparation."

"We are determined to make our Club the best it can be on and off the pitch. Rest assured there is an exciting future for Nuneaton RFC and John’s appointment is a big step along that road.”

Huw Thomas, Director of Rugby, commented:

“This is a great appointment. As a former teammate of John Beart’s I know the strengths he will bring to our Club and his ability as a Coach. I am absolutely delighted we have made such a key addition. Aspirational players will make up our Academy and we will help them develop as individuals. We will also offer players the chance to participate in our Club matches as Colts and we will expect them to train on Thursdays and play on a Saturday. The Club is progressing and moving forward and we will welcome all who want to join us."
