NRFC is sad to announce David Busby has passed away...

Nuneaton RFC are sad to announce the death of David Busby popularly known as Bokker, on Tuesday the 27th of February aged 74 years.

Bokker was one of the initial team of Nuns colts under Jack Thomas in the early 60’s and played through all levels up to the first 15 as a dogged Scrum half.

The family moved with work to Canada in 1967 and he transferred to play for Montreal, and he has told everyone that he was chosen at centre in a Canadian 15 to play the travelling Wilson Whinarey’s All Blacks.

On moving back to the UK in 1970 Bokker resumed his rugby playing in the Nuns firsts and then the Saracens (Social ) side and managing that team and playing until he reached 50.
Bokker was a staunch supporter of the Nuns all his life and his rugby wit and knowledge will be sorely missed.

Details of the funeral arrangements will be announced as soon as they are available.
